UFC 92 a toss up
Saturday, December 27th, 2008 | UFC | No Comments
Las Vegas will be the host of light heavyweight championship on Saturday night. UFC 92′s big fight is Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans both skilled fighters making it hard to pick the favorite to win. Griffin is the current champion (16-4) and is currently the slight favorite only because he is little more know then Evans. Griffin’s last two big fights he beat Quinton Jackson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
Evans also has a very immersive recordĀ (17-0-1) is undefeated and is most well know for his crazy knockout of Chuck Liddell on Sept. 6 in Atlanta. That fight earned him the title shot but he has not faced a top contender until tonight. Evens training partner, Keith Jardine has knocked out Griffin two years ago so this should be a big help for Evens tonight. Both fighters are the same age and both got their start from the UFC reality show the first two years it was on. With UFC having their biggest pay-per-view year this fight should be a record breaker for UFC and pay-per-view. We will have the winner posted after the fight.
Update: Evans won the light heavyweight champsionship after taking Griffin to the ground in the third round.
