Mas Siegel
NASCAR to get diversity program
Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 | General, NASCAR | No Comments
Max Siegel announced today that he will step down as president of global operations to run NASCARS diversity program. Siegel will still be an consultant for Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing in conjunction with his former law firm, Baker and Daniels. NASCAR’s The Drive for Diversity program is looking to generate minority and female competitors for the sport, not only for drivers but supports jobs also. Siegel is looking to increase the programs credibility inside and outside of the sport. Right now there are no full-time minority drivers in any of the two NASCAR series. This new program comes after NASCAR recently settled a $225 million lawsuit filed by Mauricia Grant. She claimed she was subjected to racial discrimination and sexual harassment over the two years she worked for the company.
