One more sponsor gone for Tiger

Thursday, December 31st, 2009 | Golf, Tiger Woods | No Comments

AT&T announced today that they will no longer sponsor Tiger Woods, joining a growing list of firms that are dropping or cutting back sponsorship of the super star. All of this comes after the numerous allegations of infidelities continues to grow. AT&T does not use Woods’ image in advertising, but they do have  logo on his golf bag. The deal that is multi-year that was signed in 2009. Woods also has hosted the AT&T National PGA tour since 2007. AT&T will still sponsor the event which is heal in Newtown Square, PA in July.

Some of the other companies to drop Tiger this year are Accenture, Gillette, Tag Heauer, and Electroic Arts who has not made a definite plans on their future with Woods’. Electronic Arts is the maker of the wildly famous “Tiger Woods PGA Tour” which is a series of golf video games.

I think many people can agree with me that it’s hard to feel bad for this guy, you have $500 million dollars and you couldn’t keep your hands to your self. This just helps back my belief that 99% of famous people are morons.

Tiger Woods Taking Break from Golf

Saturday, December 12th, 2009 | Golf, Sports, Tiger Woods | No Comments

Tiger Woods Indefinite Leave from Golf

Tiger Woods is a taking an indefinite leave from Golf for the time being. Woods announced the news in a statement posted to his website: “After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person.” Ouch. Talk about facing the music.

Things must be much worse than we thought for Woods, Elin and his family…

That being said, I’m still predicting that Woods wins a major in 2010!

Jesper Parnevik Wishes He Could Take a “Mulligan” with Tiger Woods “set-up” with Elin Nordegren

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 | General, Golf, Sports, Tiger Woods | No Comments

tiger woods elin nordegren jesper parnevik

Ouch – while most golfers have been diplomatic with the Tiger Woods – Elin Nordegren-Woods debacle, fellow golfer (and former friend) Jesper Parnevik really let Woods have it in an interview with the Golf Channel this week.  You see – Parnevik was the one who set up Elin with Tiger back in 2001 – Elin had been the Parnevik family nanny while on tour.  It’s been a fairytale romance and family life for Tiger and Elin since then – up until this past weekend of course.  Now that it appears that Tiger Woods has been involved with several woman, it looks like Woods might not be the pristine gentleman that we all thought he was. Here are a couple of scathing quotes from Parnevik:

“I feel really sorry for Elin… I would be especially sad about it since I’m kind of… I really feel sorry for Elin, since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him.  We probably thought he was a better guy than he is.  I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of the 3-iron.”

“It’s a private thing, of course.  But when you are the guy he is, the world’s best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff… And maybe not just do it, like Nike says.”

Gotta love this stuff.  2 girls come forward in just a few days after the weekend “car accident” in Florida.  Can’t wait to hear more voice recordings of Tiger to his “lady friends” in the coming months.  This is just going to keep getting better and better.  This is just the beginning.  Fore!!!

Tiger comes clean

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 | Golf, Tiger Woods | No Comments

Stephen Dorff and Rachel UchitelTiger is starting to come clean with the events that are going on in his life. He posted this on his website today.

“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.” Source: tigerwoods.com

He is not coming out and fulling admitting to any of the women that have said he was sleeping with them, but this statement makes some strong comments. Looks like he knows he can’t keep denying all of this forever, people are starting to realize Tiger could be a cheater. With the voice mail coming out this morning how can he keep saying I didn’t do it?  I think the real question is how much money will this cost him?

And here is the voice mail, it sounds a lot like him.

Did Tiger get beat up by his wife?

Saturday, November 28th, 2009 | Golf, Tiger Woods | No Comments

tiger_woods-elinAs we reported last night Tiger Woods was in a car crash early in the morning and the story was very fishy. Now TMZ is reporting that Woods injuries were caused by his wife.  Woods has not been interviewed yet by the highway patrol and should be sometime this weekend. Both Woods and his wife’s story have changed since the night of the crash. TMZ also reported that “And we’ve learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger’s SUV — putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.”

There are also reports that Woods and his wife got into a fight because she believes Woods has a girlfriend. The rumored other women in this whole story is Rachel Uchitel. Uchitel has already hired big name lawyer Gloria Allred and is not saying anything to the press. More to come on this story as we get info.

Tom Watson almost oldest to win a major

Sunday, July 19th, 2009 | Golf, Sports | 1 Comment

tom-watson

Tom Watson was set to be the oldest player to win a major but today fell just a bit short and the 59 year old was beat out by Stewart Cink. As it turned out  Stewart Cink holes the birdie putt, shares a warm handshake and some words with Watson, an embrace with his caddie and he is the 2009 Open Championship winner. Watson played the some of the best rounds of his life and should be very proud. Cink just out played him in the 4 hole play off.

John Daly is why I love golf

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 | Golf | No Comments

You have to love John Daly he brings what no other golfer can to the game. He drinks and smokes and won’t apologize for it. Today he showed up at the Pro-Am in Girona Spain wearing the craziest out fit I have ever seen a golfer show up with. Check it out.

Tiger Woods – Back in Action in Accenture Match Play Championship

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 | Golf | No Comments

tiger woods.jpg

It looks like we have a return date for Tiger Woods – the world’s #1 golf player. Woods is set to face Brendan Jones of Australia in the opening round of next week’s Accenture Match Play Championship. As the world’s #1 player, Woods will have the top #1 seed in the tournament. Woods has not fared well against Australians in this match play championship – 3 of his 6 losses have come at the hands of Australians – twice to Nick O’Hern in the second round in each of 2005 and 2007 and once to Peter O’Malley in the first round way back in 2002. The other #1 seeds are Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington and Vijay Singh.

Woods has not played in a tournament since he had knee surgery following his 2008 US Open victory in dramatic playoff fashion. Wood was seen limping on several occasions during the US Open, and announced that he was having season-ending knee surgery just a few days after the win.

Mickelson leads Rivera

Thursday, February 19th, 2009 | Golf | No Comments

philPhil Mickelson took the lead Thursday with an 8-under 63 which is his career-best at the Riviera. It’s the first time in 10 rounds this year he broke 70. His previous best at the Riviera was a 64 in the second round last year and went on to a two shot victory. Most of the Media attention has be on 17-year-old Ryo Ishikawa of Japan who is making his tour debut.
