Charles Barkley Starts Serving 3-Day Jail Sentence

Sunday, March 8th, 2009 | Charles Barkley, NBA, Sports | No Comments

Charles Barkley is serving his debt to society.  Barkley showed up at Tent City on Saturday morning to serve his 3-day jail sentence.  Barkley was arrested on December 31st after leaving a Scotsdale, Arizona nightclub.  Barkley did not cooperate with police o the scene as he failed a sobriety test.  Rather than fight the charges, Barkley later pleaded guilty to 2 misdemeanor DUI charges and was given the 3-day jail sentence.

It is unclear whether Barkley will be housed with the other inmates in tents, or if he will be segregated from the general jail population.  I’m sure we’ll hear all about it once Barkley gets out and resumes his analyst duties for the NBA on TNT.  After his guilty plea, Barkley acknowledged that he made a mistake and that he had “to take the beatdown.”  Here’s looking forward to hearing about Barkley’s stint behind bars…
