I don’t think we’ll ever figure out this 2009-10 Bulls team.
On Friday night, the Bulls loss to the Washington Wizards in an embarrassing fashion, 113-90. The Wizards have only 14 wins on the season – tied for 2nd worst in the NBA. The Bulls allowed 8 Wizards players to score in double-digits, while the Bulls only had 3.
On Saturday night, the Bulls overcame a 17-point 4th quarter deficit and outscored the Houston Rockets 34-14 in the final 12 minutes of the game to pull of the improbable win, 105-102. Houston is the 4th best team in the Western Conference. Derrick Rose paced the Bulls with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Ben Gordon scored 16 points. Joakim Noah had a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds, while Tyrus Thomas just missed one with 19 points and 9 rebounds. John Salmons (12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists) and Brad Miller (11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists) also had solid games off the bench.
In any event, the Bulls still trail the Milwaukee Bucks by 1 game for the 8th seed in the East. Next up for the Bulls are 3 winnable games – Charlotte, Golden State and Milwaukee. Our prediction, the Bulls revert back to their old ways and lose 2 out of the 3. We hope we’ll be wrong, but we have a good feeling that we’ll be right.
