All the talk of a perfect season have come to an end for North Carolina thanks to Tyrese Rice and Boston Colleges big win. Boston won 85-78 with Rice scoring 25 points and Rakim Sanders adding 22 to help out with the win. Boston had a six point lead at halftime and up-ed that lead by as much as 15 at one point. Boston was picked in the preseason to finish only 11th in the ACC out of 12 teams. The Tar Heel have been picked to be the No.1 team in the national poll. North Carolina has five starters that are back this year from a Final Four team that won 36 games. Until Sunday North Carolina has owned the court in its first 13 games winning by an average of 26 points and now having the school record for most double-digit wins. “We never sat in the locker room and said, ‘Let’s go straight undefeated,’” said Tayler Hansbrought who scored 21 points. “That was more people outside the locker room.” The last meeting between the two teams North Carolina came back from a 18 point deficit in the second half to win 90-80.
Carolina shot 29 percent in the second half and 15-for-27 from the foul line. But most of the game the Tar Heels looked lost. Tyler Hansbrogh also had 9 rebounds with his 21 points.
