Boston College threatens

Monday, January 5th, 2009 | College Football | No Comments

jeff_jagodzinskiBoston College told coach Jeff Jagodzinski if he interviews with the Jets to hit the road, he is fired. The interview is scheduled for Monday night. Even with the threat Jagodzinkski plans on going to the interview with the NY Jets. If he is fired the school can go in-house to replace him. Rumor is offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and offensive line/assistant are in the running for the job. “If Jags wants to be here, he’ll be here,” a source close to the situation said. “If he doesn’t want to be here, he won’t be”

The school is not happy with the Jets interview because they feel it could be the start of a trend to interview to try and land a NFL job. Jagodzinksi was first told on Saturday the if he went to the interview he would be fired. Jagodzinski has declined to comment on the threats so far. Jagodzinksi, 45 has coached Boston for two season and the team has finished first both years. In 2007 Boston beat Michigan State in the Champs Sports Bowl and was 11-3. Jagodzinski is not new to the NFL in 1999 he was an assistant for the packers. I say with a recored like this go interview, tell BC to do you know what.

Boston beats No. 1 team

Monday, January 5th, 2009 | College Basketball | No Comments

boston_college_ncarolina_basketballsffembeddedprod_affiliate56All the talk of a perfect season have come to an end for North Carolina thanks to Tyrese Rice and Boston Colleges big win. Boston won 85-78 with Rice scoring 25 points and Rakim Sanders adding 22 to help out with the win. Boston had a six point lead at halftime and up-ed that lead by as much as 15 at one point. Boston was picked in the preseason to finish only 11th in the ACC out of 12 teams. The Tar Heel have been picked to be the No.1 team in the national poll. North Carolina has five starters that are back this year from a Final Four team that won 36 games. Until Sunday North Carolina has owned the court in its first 13 games winning by an average of 26 points and now having the school record for most double-digit wins. “We never sat in the locker room and said, ‘Let’s go straight undefeated,’” said Tayler Hansbrought who scored 21 points. “That was more people outside the locker room.” The last meeting between the two teams North Carolina came back from a 18 point deficit in the second half to win 90-80.

Carolina shot 29 percent in the second half and 15-for-27 from the foul line. But most of the game the Tar Heels looked lost. Tyler Hansbrogh also had 9 rebounds with his 21 points.

Knicks beat Celtics

Monday, January 5th, 2009 | NBA | No Comments

knicks_celticsNot that long ago the Boston Celtics had a 19-game winning streak to start off there season and now they are in a slump so bad the Knicks beat them. The Knicks have not beat the Celtics in NY since 2005 and this snapped a eight game losing streak. Wilson Chandler had a big game for the Kincks with 31 points and Al Harrington scored 30 points. Kevin Garnett didn’t even show up for the game going 1-for-6 for six points. Paul Pierce did come to play he had a great 31 point game and Ray Allen helped out with 16. “We’ve just got to come together,” Pierce said. “We talked about it after the game amongst the players, what we’re doing right, what we’re doing wrong, and the good thing about this group, we’re a strong group”

I think the Stephon Marbury deal that everyone is talking about is starting to look real good to the Celtics right now. After losing three of four on the West Coast road trip over the holidays this team needs to look deep to pull out a repeat. Most players would be willing to try out Marbury even ex teammate Garnett. Rajon said “We can’t really worry about it all, We’ve got to go out there and go with the staff at hand.” Looks like we will have to wait until June to see how this all turns out.
