Mr Steroid wants to play
Monday, December 29th, 2008 | MLB
Maybe my title is a little mean, but come on Sammy, does anyone care that 40 Sammy Sosa is ready to play? Sosa who up until now has said he wanted to retire after the March World Baseball Classic thinks he can still impact baseball. Sosa the only hitter to surpass 60 or more homers in a season on three occasions does not have any offers on the table right now. ” Any team who wants to sign me should have the initiative and make an offer” ” I shouldn’t be looking for offers out there,” Sosa said. Sosa thinks he is still in good physical shape and hopes to be back on the field in 2009. In 2007 Sosa had 21 home runs and 92 RBIs in 114 games with the Texas Rangers. He is also the fifth player to hit 600 home runs along with Barry Bonds (762), and Hank Aaron(755).
I guess if this was 1998 and MLB was still looking the other way when it comes to its steroid policy I would think this is a no-brainer for any team. But a 40 hasbeen that is still way to full of himself, I can see why most teams don’t care. Sorry Sammy most teams have been busy trying to sign Mark Teixeria and CC Sabathia I’m sure they will get to you at some point. Once again I just love these pro athletes there head can never get to swollen.
