Ole Miss coach beats up cab driver

Andy Kennedy will on the court Thursday night despite getting locked up for allegedly assaulting a cab driver in Cincinnati. Kennedy’s attorney entered a plea of not guilty on the misdemeanor charge and he was back on the court for the team shoot-around Thursday. The cab driver accused Kennedy of punching him in the face while shouting racial slurs.

Mississippi which is considered one of the best college basketball teams in the SEC West is in Cincinnati for the Big East/Sec Invitational. Kennedy said in a statement. “I regret this situation, The focus should be on the players and the game, not on me. I vehemently deny the charges levied against me, and am completely confident that I will be fully exonerated of all charges.” A hearing has been set for Jan.16.

The Cincinnati police are reporting that Kennedy allegeldy assaulted a 25-year-old cab driver at about 1 a.m. in downtown Cincinnati. The report stated that Kennedy “was the aggressor that punched the listed victim with a closed fist. also was using racial slurs while punching the victim”

Rusty O’Brien, a attorney in Louisville said Kennedy became upset when the driver refused to allow five passengers into his taxi.
