Gary Bettman handed down his ruling today and Sean Avery is suspended for six games. Avery has already been out two games after making inappropriate comments, not pertaining to the game. Avery used a crude expression in Calgary during a interview to reports to describes his former girlfriend that is now dating other hockey players. His comments appeared to be directed at Flames defense man Dion Phaneuf who is now dating his ex Elisha Cuthbert. Avery was quoted calling Elisha his “sloppy seconds.” and this got him into hot water with the NHL.
