Britney Spears Circus leaked on net

Monday, November 17th, 2008 | Concerts | No Comments

britney-spears-baldIf there is anyone out there that still cares about a washed up trailer trash crackhead we are happy to report that Britney Spears new album Circus has been leaked on the Internet. I ask myself, was this album named after the last five years of her life? I guess we will never know.  So if you really care I am sure you can find the “leaked” album on the net. Maybe we will be lucky enough to get a tour in 2009?

Billionaire Mark Cuban charged with insider trading

Monday, November 17th, 2008 | Mark Cuban, NBA, Sports | No Comments

cuban dancingI hope Mark Cuban is not dumb enough to have pulled something like this. The SEC accused Cuban of selling his stake in Mamma.com in June 2004, after allegedly getting a tip on non-public information. The trade saved him $750,000.  MLB must be loving this. The one guy that could buy the Cubs and take them to the World Series will never be approved to buy the team now. Below is what Cuban had to say on his Blog.

I wish I could say more, but I will have to leave it to this, and let the judicial process do its job.
November 17, 2008
RE: SEC Civil Action in the United States District

for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division

Mark Cuban today responded to a civil complaint filed by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States District for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. In its complaint, the Commission charges that Mr. Cuban engaged in violations of the federal securities laws in connection with transactions in the securities of Mamma.com Inc.

This matter, which has been pending before the Commission for nearly two years, has no merit and is a product of gross abuse of prosecutorial discretion. Mr. Cuban intends to contest the allegations and to demonstrate that the Commission’s claims are infected by the misconduct of the staff of its Enforcement Division.

Mr. Cuban stated, “I am disappointed that the Commission chose to bring this case based upon its Enforcement staff’s win-at-any-cost ambitions. The staff’s process was result-oriented, facts be damned. The government’s claims are false and they will be proven to be so.”– Mark Cuban

Bulls Beat Pacers 104-91, 5-5 After 10 Games

Monday, November 17th, 2008 | Chicago Bulls, NBA, Sports | No Comments

The Chicago Bulls picked up a huge 104-91 win against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. After falling to 3-5 with home losses to the Cavaliers and Hawks, and with a dreaded 7-game road trip looming over the horizon, the Bulls had come to their 1st real cross-roads of the young 2008-9 NBA season. The Bulls had 2 home games left against the Mavericks and Pacers and they needed 2 big wins to get back to that .500 mark at 5-5. The Bulls defeated the Mavericks 98-91 on Thursday and finished off the home stand on a positive not with the win over the Pacers. The Bulls faced the challenge head-on and came out victorious. The Bulls started off strong with a 27-17 first quarter lead. They gave 2 points back in the 2nd quarter, but still had a comfortable 8-point halftime lead. After an even 3rd quarter, the Bulls finished off the win with a stifling defense in the 4th quarter that saw the Pacers score only 18 points. In a addition to the solid defensive effort, the Bulls had 5 players in double-digits. Derrick Rose led the team with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. He was also 3 of 5 from 3-point range, showing a new asset of his game. Ben Gordon poured in 19 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists, while Luol Deng added 17 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. On the glass, Drew Gooden ripped down 10 boards while Joakim Noah chipped in 8 boards. Off the bench, Andres Nocioni proved once again that he is a legitimate contender for the Best 6th Man Award – scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in only 31 minutes of play. Larry Hughes continues to get back up to game speed, scoring 12 points in 22 minutes of play.

The Pacers didn’t have much to celebrate, but they did manage to have 6 players with double-digits in scoring, as well as 3 players who grabbed 10 or more rebounds.

Now the Bulls face a daunting road test. The Bulls currently stand at 5-5, tied with the 76ers and Heat for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. The Bulls open the 7-game road trip at the Staples Center on Tuesday night to face the Lakers. Then its off to face the Trailblazers on Wednesday and the Warriors on Friday. The Bulls finish up the west coast portion of the road trip with games against the Nuggets, Jazz and Spurs next week. The Bulls then head back to Chicago for the Thanksgiving holiday before playing a home and home series with the Philadelphia 76ers – in Philly on 11/30 and at the United Center on 12/2.

Looking back at the 5-5 start, I give credit to Vinny Del Negro and his staff. Their 5 losses are to the Celtics, Cavaliers (2), Hawks and Magic – currently 4 of the 5 best teams in the conference. In addition to winning games they should have won (Bucks, Grizzlies, Pacers), the Bulls have beaten the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns – 2 traditional Western Conference powerhouses. Derrick Rose has emerged as the team’s best all-around player, with Ben Gordon shining in the shooting guard role. The dynamic Rose-Gordon duo has kept teams off-balance and allowed the likes of Luol Deng, Drew Gooden, Andres Nocioni and, at times, Tyrus Thomas, to put up great numbers on any given night. The team has yet to win on the road, so the upcoming trip will not be pretty. If the Bulls expect to have a shot at the 2008-9 playoffs, they will need to win at least 2 of the 7 games. If they can steal a 3rd game along the way, it would be a major accomplishment for this young head coach who is still trying to mold his young team into a contender.
